One of the most common questions visitors ask when planning their holiday is:
"Should I take the ferry to Antiparos or join a cruise from Paros?"
Many travelers assume these are simply two different ways of getting to Antiparos. In reality, they are completely different experiences.
If you're trying to decide between a Paros to Antiparos ferry and a cruise around Antiparos, understanding the difference will help you choose the experience that best matches your holiday style.
Another question I often hear is: "Is Antiparos worth visiting?"
The short answer is yes. The longer answer depends on how you'd like to spend your day.

Is Antiparos Worth Visiting?
Absolutely.
Antiparos is one of the most popular day trips from Paros and for good reason. The island is known for its charming Cycladic village, relaxed atmosphere, beautiful beaches, and slower pace of life.
The main village of Antiparos is built around a picturesque harbor and is perfect for wandering through narrow whitewashed alleys, discovering small boutiques, enjoying a long lunch by the sea, or simply soaking up the island atmosphere.
Visitors with a rental car can also explore more of the island, including the famous Antiparos Cave and some of the island's quieter beaches.
For many visitors, Antiparos offers a different side of the Cyclades and is well worth visiting during a stay in Paros.
Taking the Ferry to Antiparos
The ferry is the way to reach Antiparos from Paros.
The crossing is short and operates throughout the day, making it easy to visit the island for a few hours or spend a full day exploring.
You can travel as a foot passenger and arrive directly in the heart of Antiparos village, where everything is within walking distance. Many visitors spend their day strolling through the charming streets, stopping for coffee, shopping, enjoying the beaches near town, and experiencing the island's relaxed atmosphere.
If you've rented a car, you can also take it on the ferry and explore further around the island.
A ferry trip is ideal for travelers who want to experience Antiparos itself and spend time discovering the island on land.
Taking a Cruise Around Antiparos
A cruise offers a completely different experience.
Instead of focusing on Antiparos village, you'll spend your day exploring the beautiful coastline and islands surrounding Paros and Antiparos.
One of the highlights is the experience of sailing from island to island through the heart of the Cyclades.
Depending on the route, cruises typically sail from Paros toward Panteronisi, famous for its crystal-clear waters and known as the Blue Lagoon area, before continuing around Antiparos.
Full-day cruises usually continue even further south toward Despotiko, an uninhabited island known for its untouched beauty, turquoise waters, and hidden coves.
Along the way, you'll have opportunities to swim, snorkel, explore sea caves, and enjoy places that simply cannot be reached by car.
This type of trip is less about visiting a village and more about experiencing the natural beauty of the Aegean Sea.
Should I Take a Ferry or a Cruise to Antiparos?
By now, you've probably realized that these aren't two ways of doing the same trip—they're two completely different experiences.
If you're looking to explore Antiparos village, stroll through its charming streets, visit local cafés, relax on the beaches, and discover the island itself, take the ferry.

If you'd rather spend the day swimming in crystal-clear water, exploring sea caves, visiting hidden bays, and sailing between some of the most beautiful islands in the Cyclades, then a cruise is the experience you're looking for.

If I had to choose just one, I would choose the cruise.
Antiparos village is beautiful and absolutely worth visiting. But the Blue Lagoon, the hidden sea caves, the secluded swimming spots, and the breathtaking coastline around Antiparos are experiences you simply cannot have from land.
You can visit beautiful Cycladic villages throughout Greece.
But there are very few places that offer a sailing experience like the one you'll find between Paros, Antiparos, Panteronisi, and Despotiko.
If your schedule allows it, don't choose, do both.
Take the ferry one day to explore Antiparos, and spend another day on the water discovering the coastline that makes this part of the Cyclades so unforgettable.
Enjoy your vacation!
